Pandemic Response
By March of 2020, it was clear that Project G.L.A.M, our annual prom dress giveaway for 1000 young women in need, would be canceled. WGIRLS in-person events across the country quickly followed suit. As an organization, we immediately pivoted to addressing the country's most pressing needs starting with PPE for first responders. From there, we reimagined the work of WGIRLS to allow us to continue to meet the needs of the communities we serve safely and effectively.
Sourcing and Fundraising PPE for Frontline Workers
In the earliest days of the pandemic, WGIRLS Inc. sourced, fundraised, procured, and delivered over $25,000 in personal protective equipment for doctors and nursing staff at our Founders hometown hospital.

All Things Virtual
From coast to coast, WGIRLS chapters pivoted to a fully online format by the end of March 2020. Meetings, fundraising efforts, and program planning all went virtual. We dedicated our focus to meeting the most basic needs of the populations we serve. They included food, shelter, and safety. Fortunately, our chapters were able to reimagine a majority of our programming online.
