WGIRLS NOLA

The WGIRLS NOLA originated in October of 2009 although the idea of it was sparked long before. Starting off strong with nearly twenty members we have only continued to grow ever since. We meet every Wednesday night at 7:30pm at various locations throughout the city of New Orleans to discuss our future events, potential charities/partnerships, and to plan both social and philanthropic events. We are there to support one another, network, build friendships, and have fun- all while making a difference in the lives of others and our community as a whole.

WGIRLS NOLA Raise over $2000 in Their First Fundraising Event!

The WGIRLS NOLA is proud to announce that our first event "Tinsel and Toddies Happy Hour" which supported St. Julian Elementary School was a huge success. Not only did we raise over $2000, but we were able to buy gifts for 48 underprivileged youth, and have a holiday party for them at their school. Special thanks to our sponsors who made this all possible: Walmart, Krispy Kreme, Allan Berger and Associates, Hershey's, and of course Cure who hosted us that evening. Thank you to all of the individuals who made donations as well as those who bought tickets and came to the event. We hope everyone enjoyed themselves and looks forward to the next WGIRLS NOLA event. Congratulations to all of our raffle winners who won awesome prizes from Maya's Restaurant, The Hornets, Bicycle Michael's, The Prytania Theatre, Dirty Coast Tees, and Swap Boutique.

Tinsel and Toddies - Hope for the Holidays!

On Wednesday December 16, 2009, WGIRLS NOLA will host "Tinsel & Toddies," a philanthropic event to benefit two second-grade classrooms at St. Julian Elementary School. The event will be hosted at Cure, located at 4905 Freret Street, and will include an evening of cocktails, music, a silent auction and raffle prizes.

In a city that was so devastated by Hurricane Katrina 5 years ago, there is still so much rebuilding that needs to be done, not just of the landscape but of the people and the community as well. The WGIRLS NOLA is excited to be making a difference in the lives of the women and children of this great city and would love your help by joining our organization or supporting us at many of our upcoming events!
