The WGIRLS NYC Respond to the Earthquake in Haiti
True to our mission to serve underprivileged women and children within our community, and in times of international crisis around the world, the NYC chapter of the WGIRLS is making a $2000 dollar donation to Save the Children on behalf of the littlest victims of the tragedy in Haiti.
Due to the overwhelming success of our latest event, Hope for the Holidays, the WGIRLS were able to meet the holiday wishes of over 280 disadvantaged and ill children with funds to spare. The surplus is going directly to STC, an organization on the ground in Haiti working tirelessly to keep children safe, reunite them with family members, and protect them from the dangers of human trafficking.
Given the reputation and dedication of the Save the Childen organization, they are often our go-to organization in times of international crisis.In the past the WGIRLS have donated funds through Save the Children for the earthquake in China and the Tsunami disaster in Thailand.
In addition to our donation to SAVE THE CHILDREN at the chapter level, WGIRLS members have also made personal donations to the following organizations. We encourage our supporters to give what they can to help the Haitians in their time of desperate need.
