WGIRLS NYC Host Holiday Party for Children of Bellevue

On Thursday, December 17, 2009, the WGIRLS NYC threw a holiday party at Bellevue Hospital for the Children of Bellevue, a group of 200 children served by the hospital. Fifteen WGIRLS volunteered their time and talents and worked tirelessly to transform a large auditorium into a winter wonderland filled with presents and cheer, much to the delight of the over 300 guests who attended.

Amidst twinkling lights, Christmas trees and holiday garland, the children and their guardians enjoyed a buffet of pizza and a huge assortment of baked goods. In addition to a visit from Santa Claus, who helped the WGIRLS NYC deliver over 1000 gifts to the children, the children and their guardians also participated in arts and crafts at the various workshops set up around the room, making holiday necklaces and ornaments, snowflakes and decorating gingerbread cookies. The children also enjoyed playing holiday bingo and getting their faces painted as they waited patiently in line for a visit with Santa. Everyone had a fantastic time, enjoyed the holiday spirit and best of all, over 200 children had their holiday wishes fulfilled!

Children of Bellevue is a non profit organization helps ease pain, loneliness and other difficult aspects of children's hospital experiences; help abused or neglected youngsters to cope, recover and heal; advance language development among children at risk of delay; and nurture children and adolescents hospitalized for psychiatric reasons.

We would like to sincerely thank everyone who contributed to the Hope for the Holidays campaign - we couldn’t have done it without you! We hope you are as excited as we are about all the good we have accomplished together. Please enjoy some of the pictures from this special day. The joy on their little faces is one of the best gifts we can give you in return to say thank you!
