Over 800 Guests Attend the WGIRLS Opportunity Rocks Fundraiser

On May 28th, the WGIRLS NYC hosted its 3rd annual Bachelor and Bachelorette fundraising auction “Opportunity Rocks” at M2 Ultra Lounge to benefit the Opportunity Network and Harlem RBI. Over 900 people attended this year’s event to bid on twenty four of NYC’s most eligible bachelors and bachelorettes.

Thanks to the generous support of our sponsors, guests were able to enjoy an hour of open bar compliments of Belvedere Vodka and Hob Nob wines. Over 30 local restaurants supported the cause as well, by providing gift certificates for the winning bidders to take their “date” out. See our event sponsors here.

The WGIRLS NYC would like to thank everyone who contributed to making this year’s event a huge success. We would also like to share the following email from the Founder and Executive Director of the Opportunity Network detailing their tremendous gratitude to everyone who supported and attended the event here.

The Opportunity Network is a career development program that creates access for high-performing but underserved public high school students to circles of influence in society. The program works to equal the playing field for high-achieving, low-income high school and college students by creating access for them to career opportunities, professional networks and competitive colleges. The program ensures that low-income students are not shut out of the networking “cycle of influence” by helping students build early resume credentials like job and internship experience, which add to the students’ already solid academic performance.

Harlem RBI’s mission is to provide inner-city youth with opportunities to Play, Learn and Grow by using the power of teams to Coach, Teach and Inspire youth to recognize their potential and realize their dreams.
